We generally get our first new snow at the end of November / beginning of December, with the season lasting until April (mostly until Easter weekend). There are no snow guarantees, of course, but for those occasions when too little falls from the sky, 90% of our ski slopes have snowmaking capability, so that nothing gets in the way of a successful winter getaway. Even if the weather remains very warm, there are always the slopes of Kaprun's glacier ski area (just a few kilometers from here).
A free ski bus runs every 20 minutes from Viehhofen to the valley terminal of the Schönleiten lifts, your gateway to the slopes of the "Ski Circus".
